As the United States transitions into another Trump presidency, we recognize the spectrum of reactions across the country—some individuals may be encouraged, while others are concerned. However, at NACA, our commitment to affordable homeownership remains steadfast. Over the past 40 years, NACA has worked with both Democratic and Republican administrations, demonstrating that our mission transcends political boundaries. We have consistently fought for economic justice and affordable housing, regardless of who is in the office.
NACA has been at the forefront of providing accessible homeownership opportunities to low- to moderate-income families nationwide. Through our “Best in America Mortgage” program, NACA has pioneered a model that eliminates traditional barriers to homeownership. We offer mortgages with no down payment, no closing costs, no mortgage insurance, and below-market fixed interest rates. This program prioritizes a person’s financial health and payment history over their credit score, making homeownership accessible to thousands of individuals and families who would otherwise be left out of the housing market.
Addressing the Housing Shortage Through Modular Homes
One pressing need in today’s market is housing supply. NACA is already addressing this need through our NACA Homes program. Our modular homes offer affordable, high-quality housing built in a controlled factory environment and assembled on-site. Unlike manufactured homes, these modular homes exceed HUD standards and boast modern, resilient designs. At approximately $110,000 to $150,000, with monthly mortgage payments ranging from $750 to $1,100, they represent a truly affordable solution that can be scaled nationally. Recently, NACA installed 10 modular homes in Selma as part of a 100-home project to revitalize the area, proving the impact such homes can have on community renewal.
The Path Forward
As we look ahead, NACA is intent on working with the Trump administration to advance housing policies that bring lasting impact. By focusing on community-rooted solutions, scalable home construction, and lending models that work for the people, we can create a housing market that offers opportunity, stability, and affordability for all. The road may be challenging, but with a commitment to innovation and economic justice, NACA will continue to lead in the fight for affordable homeownership.
